NSU Rowing Team Claims Second at SSC Championships

The No. 6 Nova Southeastern University rowing team claimed second place at the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Rowing Championship with second-place finishes in the varsity four and varsity eight races.

The event, hosted by the University Tampa, was held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. NSU went up against conference foes No. 1 Barry University, No. 4 Florida Tech, Rollins and Tampa.

The Sharks’ exhibition four claimed victory in the first race of the day with a time of 8:08.9. The team of coxswain Hannah DiLorenzo (Jr., Holland Patent, N.Y.), Kelsey Field (Fr., Ferndale, Mich.), Gabriella Lopez (So., Orlando, Fla.), Danica Buse (So., Marysville, Wash.) and Jenna Beavon (So., Kettering, Ohio) beat Florida Tech by 9.7 seconds and Barry by 13.8 seconds.
