Master of International Business Students Travel to China

The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s most recent International Field Seminar (IFS) was held in Shanghai, China during the month of March. More than 20 Master of International Business Administration (MIBA) students attended the educational trip, which was hosted by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

As part of the  itinerary, the students visited several companies, including: ZPMC; Bao Steel; Shanghai Automotive, a joint-venture with Volkswagen; and Zhangjiang Group Co. Ltd., a leading hi-tech research industry park.

The IFS program gives students enrolled in the MIBA program the option to travel to emerging markets. In addition to China, previous IFS’s have been held in India, South Africa, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Chile, Cuba, Czech Republic, Brazil, Russia, and Dubai UAE. The program was initiated in 1998, and has provided students with an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to real-world international business practices.

The next scheduled IFS will be held in Sept. 2010, and the group will travel to Moscow, Russia. To learn more about the Huizenga School’s IFS program, visit http://www.huizenga.nova.edu/IFS/.
