marchfortheocean

On Saturday, June 9, the Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC) celebrated World Oceans Day by supporting the March for the Ocean. The march will ran from 9am-1pm. The event  started at Charnow Park (1500 N Broadwalk, Hollywood, FL 33019).  There the marchers walked through the MEEC and see muralist Rei Ramirez create a sea turtle mural, walk through sprinklers, and received icee’s (water ice).

On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honord the ocean, which connects us all. The March for the Ocean’s national march took place in Washington, D.C. Broward County  joined as a sister city march.
