Huizenga Business School HR Programs Recognized by Society for Human Resource Management

FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. –Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship announced today that two of its master’s programs fully align with the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.

The programs include the Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management and Master of Science in Human Resource Management.

“This alignment signifies that NSU’s human resources programs are directly preparing our students to become successful professionals,” said J. Preston Jones, D.B.A., dean of NSU’s Huizenga Business School. “This is a validation that our graduates are ready to enter the workforce at a level that employers expect.”

Throughout the world, 369 programs in 275 educational institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates.

The HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed by SHRM to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The guidelines – created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010 and 2013 – are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards taught in university business schools and help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.

SHRM is the world’s largest HR membership organization devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries, the Society is the leading provider of resources to serve the needs of HR professionals and advance the professional practice of human resource management.
