NSU Sharks Receive National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Recognition

Team_Edit

The Nova Southeastern baseball team once again finds its name in the Top-25 of another preseason poll, this time in the recently announced National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) preseason rankings. Also, the NCBWA has brought attention to NSU’s Dylan Harris, who was named to the 2018 Preseason All-America First Team.

Harris, expected to start at first base for Nova Southeastern, recently earned the nod as a Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-American in addition to being picked as a NCBWA First Team All-Region selection.

The Sharks and the No. 5 Tampa Spartans are the lone teams from the Sunshine State Conference to represent in the preseason poll, gathering 184 and 359 points, respectively, while Florida Southern is currently receiving votes (10).

Regionally, the Sharks have been picked to finish third by the NCBWA. Defending south region champ Delta State tops the rankings, with Tampa coming in at No. 2. Both West Alabama and Florida Southern round out the Top-5.

The Sharks will take field for Opening Day tonight, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. against Catawba. For complete coverage of the action, follow the Sharks on Twitter @NSU_Baseball or visit the schedule page on NSUSharks.com.
