April 18 turned out to be a clear night, allowing NSU students, faculty, and staff joined the students of Halmos faculty member Stefan Kautsch, Ph.D. Introduction to Astronomy class and members of Kappa Sigma and Delta Phi Epsilon to look at the moon, Venus, and the stars. The students created fun games, such as “how old are you on another planet?”. Once they calculated your age, they handed out a stamped “Certificate of Birth” with your age. Faculty of the Halmos College Department of Chemistry and Physics were on hand to show people how to look through the telescopes and explain what they were seeing.
