Gibson’s Craeer Day Captures SSC Player of the Week Recgonition
After leading the offensive charge in Sunday’s 81-78 upset at home against 20th-ranked Southern Connecticut State, sophomore Dwayne Gibson has earned Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honors, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Gibson poured in a career-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including an impressive 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, to help the Sharks collect their first win over a ranked opponent since February of last season. The Indianapolis native also added seven rebounds and a pair of blocks in the effort as Nova Southeastern has now climbed back to 2-2 overall on the year.
