Free Workshop at the Alvin Sherman Library: All Writes 2018, Oct. 6
NSU Alvin Sherman Library and The Mystery Writers of America, Florida Chapter
The NSU Alvin Sherman Library and The Mystery Writers of America, Florida Chapter present All Write 2018, a free workshop open to all ages and genres of writers, from beginners to experience where you’ll learn the fine points of crafting saleable fiction from professional authors. Saturday, October 6 from 10 am – 4 pm, Alvin Sherman Library, 2nd Floor, Room 2053. Seats are limited, so reserve your spot today by registering online at lib.nova.edu/authors or call 954-262-5477. The workshop will cover the following.
- Self-Editing with Rebecca Swope: Learn how to eliminate typos and grammatical errors, and how to recognize and fix plot and structure problems. Rebecca is a former South Florida Sun Sentinel writer and freelance editor.
- Point of View with Jenna Kernan: Learn about the different storytelling viewpoints and how to use them effectively in your novel. Winner of the Book Buyers’ Best award and two-time RITA nominee, Jenna has published over forty novels.
- Dialogue vs Narrative with Diane A.S. Stuckart : Learn tricks to crafting compelling dialogue and equally enthralling description, and when they should be used in the storytelling process. Diane is a NYT bestselling author of the Black Cat Bookshop Mystery series and Chapter President of Florida MWA.
