FRAG grants help Florida sow degrees (Sun-Sentinel)

An overdue discussion on providing Florida with the kind of quality, comprehensive, cohesive higher education system it deserves is finally underway.

Most of the editorial discussion so far has focused largely on the New Florida initiative proposed by the Board of Governors of the State University System and promoted by Chancellor Frank Brogan. That’s an excellent start, but what is really needed is an all-inclusive plan to maximize the resources of all three sectors of higher education — the state universities, the community-state colleges and the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida.
