Fischler Administrator Guest Conducts for Greater Miami Symphonic Band, Group’s Season Finale is June 8

Victor López, NSU Fischler School of Education and Human Services’ Senior Director of Licensure and Compliance for the Office of Field Services, was recently asked to be a guest conductor for the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.

Maestro López, an original member of the Miami Sound Machine and well-known educator and arranger, recently conducted the group’s Twelfth Annual “Pops Concert” and near sell-out celebration of Cinco de Mayo on May 11.

Now, the 85-member Greater Miami Symphonic Band is preparing for its season finale, and invites the NSU community to attend:

  • “31st Season Grand Finale”
    Tuesday, June 8 at 8 p.m. in Maurice Gusman Concert Hall, 1314 Miller Drive, on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. Conducted by the Band’s Music Director, Gary Green, and its two Conductors, Robert Longfield and Tom Keck.

Tickets regularly cost $10 for adults, or $5 for students but the Band is extending a special NSU discount for the June 8 performance. NSU tickets for this performance will cost $8 for adults and $4 for students.
