Nova Southeastern University’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education in partnership with Long Island University Brooklyn and Broward County Public Schools hosted the Sanford Inspire Exchange.

The Sanford Inspire Exchange featured a professional development setting and school district discussion on December 7-8 between the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) Brooklyn High School Superintendent for Districts 17, 18, 20, 21, and 22, Dr. Michael Prayer and his leadership team of 5 Brooklyn High School principals and the Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Superintendent, Mr. Robert Runcie and his leadership team.

The two day event featured classroom tours and meetings at two Broward County Public Schools, Pompano Beach High School and Crystal Lake Middle School as well NSU University School Middle and Upper Schools. Additionally, round table discussions were held with key educational leaders representing BCPS and NSU as well as a College and Career Readiness Panel with leadership from BCPS and NSU.  Two Ed Talks were facilitated by David Ward, Brooklyn High School Principal and Keith Peters, BCPS principal of Gator Run Elementary. Most important was the meeting and educational discussion between Superintendent Runcie, BCPS and Superintendent Prayer, NYCDOE.
