DII Hoops Bulletin Places Women’s Basketball No. 3 in National Preseason Poll

The Nova Southeastern University women’s basketball team has been featured in the Women’s Division II Bulletin

For the third straight season, the Nova Southeastern University women’s basketball team has been featured in the Women’s Division II Bulletin season preview issue, as they have been chosen as the No. 3 team in the publication’s preseason top 10.

This is the highest predicted ranking of the Sharks by WDIIB, a year after being selected No. 7, while two years ago, they were slotted fifth. Also included in the issue is a region-by-region preview, broken down by conference. NSU is predicted first in the SSC, ahead of Rollins and Eckerd.

“Receiving a No. 3 preseason ranking by the DII Bulletin is great recognition for our program,” said head coach LeAnn Freeland. “Over the past four seasons, our players have worked diligently to become a nationally-recognized program. Our current team is working daily to meet our Shark standards and are driven from within to find their next level as an individual and as a team. Our coaching staff has really enjoyed working with this group in the preseason due to their coachability, work ethic and team chemistry. We look forward to this season’s journey together.”

The Sharks will have one exhibition that is open to the public prior to the start of the regular season. They will travel to Coral Gables to take on the University of Miami on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m., nine days ahead of the season opener
