Cook Crosses 1,000 Points in NSU Career

Sydney Cook

Volleyball player, Sydney Cook (Jr., Miami, Fla.), recently became the sixth player in program history to reach 1,000 points in her NSU career. After crossing the milestone in the South Region Crossover last weekend, Cook ranks behind former teammate Molly Sigirich who totals 1,139 points.Cook notched her best scoring match earlier this season, where she tallied 25 points against New Haven on a season-high 20 kills. She currently leads the team in kills with 218 (2.99 per set), good for a top-5 spot in the SSC.

In her sophomore year, Cook was honored as a second team All-Sunshine State conference selection, leading the Sharks with 307 kills (3.34 per set), ranking fifth and fourth, respectively, in the conference. She was also 14th in aces at a team-high 0.28 per set on 26 total. She was also the team leader in total points (361), solo blocks (15) and total blocks (41).
