Computer Science School Professor Presents at Sloan-C International Conference
Professor Laurie Dringus, Graduate School of Computer and Information Systems, recently attended the Sloan-C 16th Annual International Conference on Online Learning in Orlando. Dringus participated in a panel presentation session called, “The Community of Inquiry Framework: Ten Years Later,” with Karen Swan, Phil Ice, Peter Shea, Melissa Burgess, Lynette Nagel, Beth Rubin, and Norm Vaughan.
During the panel, Dringus presented, “Facilitating Discourse and Enhancing Teaching Presence: Using Mini Audio Presentations in Online Forums.” This presentation was based on a paper Dringus co-authored with GSCIS Professors Marti Snyder and Steve Terrell, published in The Internet and Higher Education, Special Issue on The Community of Inquiry Framework: Ten Years Later.
