College of Health Care Sciences to Host Fourth Annual Leadership Institute, Sept. 14

“Leading the Way – Incorporating Patient and Family – Centered Care into Interprofessional Practice and Education”

UntitledThere is a revolution going on in health care!  Patients and families are collaborating at every level of service to improve health care delivery, health outcomes and patient, and staff satisfaction. The College of Health Care Sciences, Office of Professional Development is offering The Leadership Institute in collaboration with the Interprofessional Education Committee and The Center for Academic and Professional Excellence (CAPE) Titled “Leading the Way – Incorporating Patient and Family – Centered Care into Interprofessional Practice and Education.” All NSU preceptors, clinical and affiliated faculty were invited to attend.

This seminar will provide participants with the historical and legislative background of patient and family centered care.  Participants will hear how the South Broward Hospital District (Memorial Health System) has embraced Family – Centered Care (PFCC) at all levels of their organization through their partnership with patients and families. Presenters from the University of Arkansas Health Sciences will discuss their journey of integrating PFCC education into Interprofessional education/practice for their entire health professional student body.  Finally, a panel of patients/families will share their wisdom on educating future health professional students.

Join us on September 14, 2017, 1:00 – 4:00 pm in the Terry Building Chancellors Dining Room. Continuing Educating Units will be provided upon completion.

Seating for the Leadership Institute is limited so please reserve your seat today for the event at the Fort Lauderdale/ Davie campus.  Video conferencing is available for all regional campuses.
