Calling all Franklin Fans: New Exhibit About Benjamin Opens Oct. 5
Ever wonder who the real Benjamin Franklin was, and how he helped influence so much of America’s culture? Then don’t miss out on a special series of events in his honor at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center, during the upcoming “Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World” exhibition.
The FREE exhibit examines the remarkable life and achievements of one of America’s most beloved personalities. Franklin was a diplomat, journalist, scientist, entrepreneur, inventor, humorist and philanthropist whose wisdom and wit continue to inspire and entertain more than three hundred years after his birth.
The exhibit will run from Oct. 5 through Dec. 2011 in the library’s Second Floor Gallery, at 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd. in Davie. It will include numerous events for Franklin fans of all ages, such as The Real Lives of Revolutionary War Soldiers with Continental and British soldiers in costume on Oct. 30; a Colonial Party with Ben Franklin featuring tea treats, parlor games and old-fashioned crafts on Nov. 19; and a Tavern Night with Ben Franklin for adults on Nov. 19, featuring an actor who reenacts the Franklin persona and time period.
The exhibit is FREE and open to the public during the following hours:
- Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
