SHSS Faculty Named an NAACP History Maker

Debra Nixon, Ph.D.

Debra Nixon, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), has been named an NAACP History Maker. During Black History Month, the NAACP sought to recognize those taking a stand against inequality, injustice, and discrimination.

Nixon’s research focus includes diversity and inclusion and she serves as the university-wide diversity and inclusion facilitator. She hosts a weekly radio show on Radio X, “On tha Real with Dr. D.”
