SHSS Alumna Appointed Evans Scholars Residence Director at Marquette University

Hannah Barr, M.S.

Hannah Barr, M.S., 2012 graduate of the master’s program in College Student Affairs (CSA) in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), has been named the Director of the Evans Scholars House at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Chapters of the Evans Scholars are located at various universities across the Midwest. The Evans Scholars Foundation, a charitable trust, provides full four-year tuition and housing scholarships for caddies who demonstrate excellent academic records, financial need, outstanding character, and have strong caddy records. It is overseen by the Western Golf Association.

While a CSA student at SHSS, Hannah was the Graduate Assistant for Student Development in the Office of Special Projects in Student Affairs. She credits her graduate assistantship as a main contributing factor to her success. “Without question, my graduate assistantship has gifted me with an even greater understanding of the importance and vitality of the student affairs field.” She also noted the exposure she had to conflict resolution as part of her CSA program as another benefit. The addition of conflict resolution in the CSA program has “….granted me a new set of skills.”
