SHSS Alum Invited to Speak at Wellesley College
Michelle Cromwell, Ph.D.
Michelle Cromwell, Ph.D., graduate of the doctoral program in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), was invited to speak at Wellesley College to train students preparing for a service trip to Barbados to be effective trainers in a culturally foreign context. The students were working with the Barbados UN affiliate, the University of the West Indies and the Barbados Government to work on the UN millennium goals of public health, violence & conflict resolution, leadership development and global awareness.
Cromwell is an assistant professor of Social and Political Systems and Center Associate for Multicultural Curriculum at Pine Manor College in Massachusetts and the founder and president of The Multicultural Village. She has also served as adjunct professor at SHSS for the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS). Cromwell’s research and practice m interests include diversity, multiculturalism and community development.
