Enjoy the American Bombshells at the Alvin Sherman Library, May 16

Sea Spray R & M_Spr07

On Saturday evening, May 16, 2015, the Circle of Friends for the NSU Alvin Sherman Library will hold its Annual Meeting at the “Sherman Canteen” in the Alvin Sherman Library to recognize outgoing board members and install new board members. This very special evening will begin with cocktails at 6:30 pm followed by dinner and entertainment in the Atrium.

The guests will enjoy a 40’s style performance by The American Bombshells, a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission, “To serve and honor our Nation’s Military, Veterans, First Responders and their families by supporting and creating unique programs that ENTERTAIN, INSPIRE, and FUNDRAISE.” The ladies are a modern day twist on The Andrews Sisters and serve as ambassadors of America’s gratitude to our nation’s heroes. Their magnificent three-part harmony, timeless look, and high-energy performance will surely leave every audience member proud to be an American. Founded in 2011, the organization has continued to grow and thrive in providing morale and transition programs for our nation’s heroes. While inspiring patriotism throughout the nation, The American Bombshells’ bookings, whether commercial or private, provide the financial means to help provide cost free patriotic shows to wounded warriors, Military bases, and Military hospitals.

Tickets for the evening are $100 for Circle of Friends members, and $125 for non-members. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Alvin Sherman Library and underwriting opportunities are available. For your convenience, there will be complimentary valet parking. Since 2001, the Circle of Friends of the Sherman Library has had a long tradition of providing literacy and cultural programs for the NSU and Broward community.   Many people don’t know that anyone living, working or going to school in Broward County can use this Library just like a public library… that’s really unique for a private not-for-profit university to allow the public to use its academic resources. Joining the Friends group lets you meet great people, opens the door to spectacular Friends and NSU events while raising funds to help support the mission of the Library. In the past two years, revenues through membership and fundraising helped the library purchase materials for AllStars Storytime for autistic children, bought essential research materials and added technology to help librarians teach students. We need friends like you to make people aware of the NSU Alvin Sherman Library as a community resource that is essential for promoting literacy and cultural arts!
