Show Your Shark Pride During NSU’s 2012 Homecoming Week; Now thru Nov. 10

Be sure to show your Shark Pride as NSU prepares to celebrate its 2012 Homecoming with current Sharks, alumni, faculty and staff preparing for a week full of fun.

The festivities will last from Sunday, Nov. 4 – Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. Highlights include NSU traditions such as the Homecoming Tailgate, and the Anything That Floats Raft Races. Don’t miss all the exciting events including:

Block Painting Party
Sunday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Alvin Sherman Library Quad
Attention all student organizations! You are invited to kick-off homecoming the colorful way! Come showcase your creative side by painting on the sidewalk between the Don Taft University Center and Alvin Sherman Library. For more information, please contact the SOuRCe at (954) 262-7548.

Women’s Volleyball Game
Tuesday, Nov. 6, starting at 7 p.m. in the Arena at NSU’s Don Taft University Center
Come show your SHARK Pride and cheer on our Women’s Volleyball team! The first 100 people will be able to “Stuff-a-Shark”! Make your very own Build-a-Bear, Shark style!

Anything That Floats Raft Races
Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 6 p.m. at NSU’s Gold Circle Lake
Have you ever seen a pond filled with homemade rafts and students struggling to make them move or even stay afloat? Come exhibit your carpentry skills and win money at our annual “Anything That Floats” Raft Race. Whether you compete or cheer for your favorite team, it will be an event you’ll never forget. The race is on!

Flight Deck Follies
Wednesday, Nov. 7, starting at 8 p.m. in the Don Taft University Center Atrium
Attention all NSU men: Join us for the annual male beauty pageant! Pull out your fishnet stockings and spritz the perfume! Come watch NSU guys dressed like NSU gals! Trust us – this is one event you will not want to miss! Applications are available in the Office of Student Activities, UC 1235.

SEA Thursday – Shark Infested Waters
Thursday, Nov. 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in NSU’s Don Taft University Center
Come out for the final meeting of the king and queen homecoming candidates and show off your Shark Pride. Those who miss it will be Shark Bait!

Homecoming Bash
Thursday, Nov. 8, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Passion Night Club in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Come out to dance and have a great time with your fellow NSU Sharks and friends! Shark Shuttle Service will be provided from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Don Taft University Center Shark Fountain. Tickets must be purchased on campus in the Don Taft University Center up until 10 p.m. the night of the event. There will not be any tickets sold at the door of Passion Night Club.

Homecoming Tailgate
Friday, Nov. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Shark Fountain, outside of the Don Taft University Center
Be a part of this NSU tradition to celebrate Shark Pride! Meet NSU Athletes, take a picture with Razor the Shark, and shoot some hoops to win your Homecoming shirt! We promise you won’t go home hungry!

Homecoming Basketball Game
Friday, Nov. 9, starting at 6 p.m. in the Arena at NSU’s Don Taft University Center
Come out show your SHARK Pride and cheer on the Basketball team! The homecoming King & Queen will be announced during half time.

Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5k and Carnival
Saturday, Nov. 10, starting at 8 a.m. at the Shark Fountain and NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library Quad
Special Olympics Broward Count invites you to participate in the 7th Annual Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5k & Carnival! Visit http://sallarulosraceforchampions.org/ for more information.
