Sharkettes Dance Team Tryouts, Oct. 16

The tryouts for the Nova Southeastern University 2015-16 Sharkettes Dance Team have been scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. in the NSU Arena in the Don Taft University Center.

The Sharkettes are the official dance team of NSU. In order to tryout, students must fit the following criteria:

  • Females who are a full time student at NSU may tryout.
  • NSU students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be free of any academic or disciplinary probation.
  • You must be CLEARED by our athletic training department by Oct. 15, 2015 to tryout. This means either:
    • You provide proof of passing a physical exam dated May 15, 2015-Oct. 15, 2015.
    • Or you must pass a ‘tryout physical’ conducted by the athletic training department.

Each prospective dancer will be evaluated on their flexibility, stylistic variety and their performance of the specific skills listed below, that may be a part of the audition process. Please be prepared to demonstrate all skills on both right and left sides. Strong energy, technique and endurance are important. Each prospective dancer should be physically performance ready. Everyone auditioning will go through a warm-up, across the floor and dance combinations of jazz and hip hop. Overall, must be a highly versatile dancer.
