Pride Bite: NSU Community helps Raise Awareness and Support in April

shark pride logoAs you know, one of NSU’s Core Values is Community. As such, the university frequently hosts 5K Runs/Walks to support a significant and worthy cause. In April, NSU is not only the site of runs/walks but the university also helped raise awareness about autism.

On Thursday, April 2 – World Autism Awareness Day – NSU students, faculty, staff and alumni were encouraged to wear blue. Thank you for showing your support, Click here to view some of the photos you, your friends, coworkers and colleagues posted wearing blue on April 2 via Twitter using the hashtag #NSUBlue.

During the month of April, NSU hosted the Relay for Life, which supports the American Cancer Society; the Broward County Heart Walk, which supports the American Heart Association; and the JDRF Broward OneWalk, which raises money to eliminate type 1 diabetes.

On April 26, when NSU will sponsor the Third Annual Motion for the Ocean 5K Walk/Run, which will benefit AMIkids, a non-profit organization that works with at-risk youth.
