NSU’s College of Engineering and Computing Hosts Events to Raise Cybersecurity Awareness, Oct. 21

NSU College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) will be hosting a series of events in observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). The events will take place on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus, 3301 College Ave., Davie. Upcoming events include:

October 21 @ noon

CEC will host a webinar – “Your Evolving Digital Life.” In a world that revolves around technology, how do you protect yourself and your digital footprint? This event will feature Michael Rocha, Deputy Program Manager for the DHS National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers & Studies (NICCS.) Join us during this webinar to learn more about maintaining a safe and secure identity and world online. National Cyber Security Awareness Month has been observed annually each October since its inception. Now in its 12th year, the awareness program was created President Obama’s Administration to engage and educate the public and private sectors about cyber security and to increase the resiliency of the American public in the event of a cyber-incident. In addition, NSU’s College of Engineering and Computing is home to several Cybersecurity Subject Matter Experts who are available to talk with media who are working stories related to this subject. Interested reporters looking for an expert to be part of their stories on this subject, which continues to be a focus for many including the U.S. Government, presidential candidates and major corporations, are urged to contact the Public Affairs Office representative listed above to make those arrangements.
