NSU Speaker’s Forum Hosted by Dr. Larry A. Calderon, Jan. 14


George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., president of Nova Southeastern University.


George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., president of NSU, will be the featured speaker at NSU Speaker’s Forum on Jan. 14. He will talk about his vision for the university.

Hanbury became the President/COO of NSU on January 1, 2010. He held the position of NSU executive vice president and chief operating officer for the last 12 years and was previously the city manager in the cities of Ft. Lauderdale and Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and assistant city manager in Norfolk, Virginia for 30 years. Hanbury holds a B.S. from Virginia Tech, an M.S. in Public Administration from Old Dominion University and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He has been certified through the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia and inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honor society for the field of public affairs and public administration.

The weekly NSU Speaker’s Forum is hosted by Larry Calderon, Ed.D., NSU vice president of community and governmental relations.

The  Speaker’s Forum will be held at the Huizenga Sales Institute’s executive conference center and grand room, which is located on the 3rd floor of the Carl DeSantis building.
