NSU Soccer Player Gains Her Second Conference Award of the Season

For the second time in three weeks, the Sunshine State Conference has awarded women’s soccer senior Sierra Lelii as their Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday, Sept. 21.

Lelii (Seminole, Fla.) notched three more goals over a 2-1 week for the Sharks, to now total a league-leading nine on the season. She scored both of the team’s two against Florida Southern this past Wednesday, and had the only tally of the match in a 1-0 win over No. 20 Tampa Saturday night.

All told, the senior forward is in the top three in seven of the nine offensive categories in the SSC. In addition to her nine goals, she is also first in total points with 19 (six ahead of the two players tied for second), in shots with 30 and is tied for the top in game-winning goals with three. Nationally, Lelii is second in goals, one behind Idoia Agirre of Anderson, and is only behind Agirre in total points as well (24-19). Her three game-winners ranks fourth in the country, and she is 10th in goals per game and 12th in points per game.

The Sharks, now 5-2, are next on the road to face Embry-Riddle this Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 7.
