NSU Hosts First Career in Sports Forum Workshop
Nova Southeastern University athletics hosted the first NSU Career in Sports Forum Workshop last week in the Sharks Athletics Building.
“The benefit of facilitating the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in 2013 and 2014 is my exposure to the programming and curriculum by the NCAA specific to this topic,” stated Associate Athletic Director/SWA Kelley Kish. “We were thrilled to offer this information, catered to NSU, to our student-athlete in the form of three workshops this week.
“The entire NCAA Membership is lucky to have the Leadership Development staff and programming to learn and grow from… that I could bring a small part of that back to Fort Lauderdale and our Sharks is amazing. I thank those student-athletes who attended this year and look forward to further ways to enhance their NSU experience and life after graduation in the future.”
The forum was based off the programming of the NCAA Career in Sports Forum, which brings together 200 selected student-athletes to learn and explore potential careers in sports, with the primary focus on intercollegiate athletics. It is designed to assist student-athletes in charting their career paths, to give them the opportunity to network and to learn from current athletics professionals. NSU previously sent swimmer Kimba Collymore to the forum in 2013.
