NSU Business School to Offer MBA Classes in Miramar

Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) has announced that graduate-level business classes will be available in Miramar through its H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

The classes will be in the Community Library-Education Center located in the Miramar Town Center at 2050 Civic Center Place (Corner of Red Road and Miramar Parkway), a residential and commercial area that features City Hall, a performing arts center, offices and retail businesses.

The Huizenga School boasts the largest Master of Business Administration enrollment in the Florida, according to the South Florida Business Journal and Florida Trendmagazine. Thus, its expansion to Miramar, one of the fastest growing areas in the state, is a logical move. NSU’s progressive business programs are a perfect fit for the bustling corporate life of Miramar, which has more Fortune 500 companies than any other city in Florida. “This location is ideal for people working and/or living in the Miramar area that are looking to advance their career with a graduate business degree,” said Dennis Dannacher, director of enrollment services for the Huizenga School.

The Community Library-Education Center is a shared facility with Broward College and the Broward County Public Library. NSU’s third-floor suite includes 14 classrooms and a computer lab. On-site student services will include financial aid counseling and academic advising.

The new facility will be particularly beneficial to the Huizenga School’s corporate partners, said Bill Spade, manager of corporate relations for the Huizenga School. “We have many long-standing corporate partnerships in the Miramar area.” Some of these corporate partnerships include companies such as Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Carnival Cruise Lines, Eastern Financial Credit Union, American Express and Comcast.

“Our corporate partners enjoy a full complement of benefits for their employees, like deferred tuition plans, tuition discounts, application fee waivers and the ability to customize delivery formats,” said Spade.

The Huizenga School’s graduate level business degree programs, which can be offered on-site at a company as well as at the new Miramar facility, include leadership, accounting, real estate development, taxation, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, public administration and more.

“It’s all about convenience to the student,” said Dannacher.

For over 40 years, NSU’s mission has been to deliver educational programs to students at locations and times convenient to them. “By bringing business programs to southwest Broward County, we believe that many prospective students will put the Huizenga School at the top of their choice set,” said Dannacher.

The Huizenga School’s competitive tuition; convenient evening, weekend and online formats; faculty members with real-world experience; and reputation for an entrepreneurial spirit helps set it apart from the competition, said Dannacher.

“We plan to begin with introductory courses offered weekday evenings, and eventually expand to full program offerings as the demand increases,” said Dannacher. “Initially, a student might take one course at the Miramar facility, and another on the main campus (Davie) or online.”

A grand opening event for the Miramar facility is planned for this fall.
