NSU Alumnus Aly Hassan Loaned to First Division Club in Bolivia

Head Coach Joe Depalo and Former Asst. Soccer coach Matthew Parry

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have reached an agreement with Club Aurora of the Bolivian first division to loan former Nova Southeastern forward Aly Hassan for the NASL Spring Championship season, the team announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Hassan, 23, completed his first professional season in 2012. He finished with six goals in league play and added three more during the U.S. Open Cup. Hassan made 20 appearances for the Strikers with 13 starts. His first goal came in the same game as his first hat trick as Hassan scored three times against the Puerto Rico Islanders in a 3-2 Strikers’ victory at Lockhart Stadium on April 25, 2012.

“We feel this loan will be a good opportunity for Aly to grow as a player,” said Strikers head coach Daryl Shore. “The fact that a South American is interested in our players speaks volumes about our team and our league.” Complete Release
