Nova Southeastern University’s Abraham S. Fischler School of Education Honors Area Educators

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla.- Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Abraham S. Fischler School of Education honored 19 North Miami-Dade County educators at the “We Love and Respect Teachers” reception held in February and co-hosted by the North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Award categories included Teachers of the Year, Rookie Teachers of the Year and Paraprofessionals (educational assistants) of the Year. Recipients were joined by their principals and other supporters.

Guests enjoyed remarks from Ron Chenail, Ph.D., interim dean of NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler School of Education; Tara Saltzman, Ed.D., Associate Dean of the Fischler School and North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce board member; George Vallejo, mayor of North Miami Beach; Christopher Colona, education chair of the North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce; Ken Dose, Ed.D., Program Professor at the Fischler School and co-chair of the education committee; Carmen Marinelli, Ed.D., Program Professor at the Fischler School; and Martin Karp, Ed.D., District 3 board member for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

“Nova Southeastern University is proud to recognize these stellar educators for their commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in the North Miami Beach community and beyond,” said Chenail. “These teachers and paraprofessionals are continuously making a difference in the lives of our youth and are deserving of our highest praise.”
