Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz Joins NSU Officials to Celebrate Recent Awarding of Title V Grants

WHAT:
Media Briefing to discuss NSU receiving two Title V Grants totaling approximately $7 million – for development of specific programs and services to better meet the needs of Hispanic/Latino and other diverse students who are pursuing high-demand science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related programs and careers, particularly those related to computer science

WHY:
Nova Southeastern University, led by Drs. Greg Simco and Meline Kevorkian, has been awarded nearly $7 million dollars in U.S. Department of Education grants under Title V, the Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program. The grants, secured in September 2013 and September 2014, will help increase the number of Hispanic and other students pursuing degrees in the STEM fields and prepare them for careers in these growing sectors and post-baccalaureate computer science-related degrees.
