Incoming students to attend this summer’s Undergraduate Orientations

freshman-and-transfer-orientationStarting the second week of June and throughout the summer, NSU will host a series of undergraduate orientations for our incoming freshman, transfer, and adult/evening students. During this time, our campus will be visited by hundreds of new students accompanied by their family members and guests. To view Orientation dates, click here.

We all understand that feeling of being ‘brand new’ to somewhere. It can often be intimidating. Therefore,we are asking that as ‘One NSU’ we go out of our way to demonstrate ‘Shark Hospitality.’ If you spot a family looking lost, stop, introduce yourself, and ask how you can help. As Orientation groups of students pass, make it a point to verbally give a ‘Shark Shout Out’ welcoming our new students to NSU.

This fall we will enroll more out of state students than ever before at NSU, many from thousands of miles away. The quicker we can help our new Sharks feel that this is their new ‘home’ the more likely our chances of student retention and (ultimately) graduation.

In our collective effort of increasing undergraduate enrollment, it is imperative that we each do our best to assist these new Sharks when they are on our campus. NSU’s faculty and staff are our greatest asset, therefore we encourage you to help our new Sharks feel welcome.

If you have any questions or comments about orientation, please contact the Office of Orientation and Commuter Involvement at (954) 262-8050.
