Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at Huizenga Business School

The Graduate Student Business Organization (GBSA) at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship, celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting a tasting of foods from various countries in Latin America  and the Caribbean, including Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru. The food was prepared and served by people from local restaurants. Albert Williams, Ph.D., academic faculty advisor for GBSA and originally from Belize in Central America, provided original Latin and Caribbean solos on his Carlos Santana PRS guitar.

In addition, because the event took place on the first week of the fall term for MBA students, GBSA invited other business student groups to participate which allowed the returning MBA students and others the opportunity to see what the student groups at HSBE were doing and how to become more involved. Student groups participating included Strategic Forum (SF), American Marketing Association (AMA), Masters in International Business Association (MIBAA), and Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). The key organizers from GBSA for this event were student leaders Bridget Guerrero (project leader),  Marie Ang, Rafael Brazon-Di Fata, and  Chantell Arne.
