Free Flu Shots for NSU Employees
It’s that time of year again when, The Office of Human Resources in conjunction with the NSU Wellness Committee, the Health Professions Division and ICUBA provide free seasonal flu shots to employees again this year.
According to the CDC, influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. Serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or death. Some people, such as older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions are at high risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year. For more information, click here.
Option 1: On-site Employee Clinics:
Free seasonal flu shots are available to all employees at the on-site clinics; you don’t need to be covered under the NSU/ICUBA medical plan but if you’re covered under the NSU/ICUBA medical plan, bring your CatamaranRX ID card. To better serve you, we ask that you complete the registration form and fax to NSU Pharmacy at 954-262-3865. You can bring the form pre-filled to the clinic date of your choice.
Option 2: Community Walgreens Location
Employees who are covered under the NSU/ICUBA medical plan and who work off-site, or employees who work on-site and wish to obtain a flu shot before the clinics begin can obtain a free flu shot at participating Walgreens location [excluding Take Care Clinics]. This can be done by presenting your CatamaranRX ID card.
You can visit the Walgreens website for information about the flu shot and to locate a participating Walgreens.
Option 3: Physician’s Office
Employees who are covered under the NSU/ICUBA medical plan can also obtain a flu shot from an in-network physician. The flu shot is free however; office visit co-payments and co-insurance apply to the visit.
