Fifth Annual “A Night In Roma” Event Set, June 9

rp_primary_Press_Release_PhotoThe Nova Southeastern University Department of Athletics will host its fifth annual A Night in Roma event, benefitting the Tony Segreto Athletic Scholarship Fund on Tuesday, June 9 at 6 p.m. in the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center on NSU’s main campus in Davie.

The event replicates New York City’s Mulberry Street, with restaurant booths, live musical entertainment, along with multiple bocce ball courts, a selection of raffle baskets, and high-end auction items. Showcasing a variety of Italian flare, Anthony’s Runway 84 and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza generously cater the event along with assorted Italian desserts and fresh breads from Mimi’s Ravioli, gourmet espresso and cappuccinos from Café Ala Carte, as well as a selection of Italian beer from Total Beverage Solution and wines from Premier Beverage Company.

Tony Segreto, former NBC6 news anchor, current NSU Board of Trustee and chair of the Athletic Advisory Council, continues to be an integral part of the South Florida community. Following his retirement in 2009, Segreto established a scholarship fund in his name to support student-athletes who otherwise might not have had the opportunity for a quality education. This year’s event will award the fourth recipient of the scholarship.

“Tony is great supporter and ambassador of our athletic program and our university,” said NSU Director of Athletics, Michael Mominey. “His commitment and dedication to our department, our student-athletes and our community is unmatched and we are fortunate to have him as part of our Shark family.”

Individual tickets for the event cost $100, which includes all food, beverages and entertainment. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call 954-922-7013 or email ocean2ocean@bellsouth.net. To purchase tickets online, click HERE.
