Facebook Attorney to Speak at the UC on Feb. 28

The NSU Law Library and Technology Center presents Virtual Law: Navigating the Legal Landscape of Virtual Worlds. What are virtual worlds and what is virtual law? What about governance of virtual worlds? Where is the intersection between property law and virtual worlds? Find out the answers to these and many other questions on Feb. 28 at the University Center Performance Theatre from 6:30 – 8 p.m.



Facebook attorney and author, Benjamin Duranske.



Benjamin Duranske is the author of Virtual Law: Navigating the Legal Landscape of Virtual Worlds. As the avatar “Benjamin Noble,” Duranske founded the Second Life Bar Association in the Second Life virtual world. Duranske is a lawyer for Facebook as Payments Counsel.

His presentation will include discussion of cases and legislation impacting virtual world and video game providers, including several dealing with popular video games such as World of Warcraft, Second Life and gold farmers.
