Circle of Friends presents “Marjorie & Marjory”, March 18

FHC 3 18 2015 Event small-sliderCircle of Friends for the NSU Alvin Sherman Library hosts Betty Jean Steinshouer as she recreates the lives of authors Marjorie Rawlings and Marjory Stoneman Douglas, on Wednesday, March 18, 6-7:30 pm. The Circle of Friends will hold a private “members only” pre-event reception at 5 pm in Room 2053 and reservations are required.

The event is free and open to the public, and will be held in the Adolfo and Marisela Cotilla Gallery on the second floor of the Sherman Library.

“Marjorie & Marjory” is a special presentation by Florida historian and literary scholar Betty Jean Steinshouer, who has done extensive research on both writers. She brings more than half a century of Florida life and lore together in this Chautauqua-style presentation, taking questions from the audience both in and out of character.

Funding for this program has been provided by The Florida Humanities Council. Although the complimentary event is open to the public, reservations are required. R.S.V.P. by March 13 -954-262-4627 or libdev@nova.edu.

As a result of an innovative agreement between NSU and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, the Alvin Sherman Library is a unique joint-use facility.
