Cheerleading Takes Third at World University Cheerleading Championships

rp_primary_CheerThe Nova Southeastern University cheerleading team placed third overall at the UCA World University Cheerleading Championships Sunday at Disney’s Wide World of Sports.

The Sharks placed third in the All Girls Team Cheer category. The Sharks topped Otemon Gakuin University and also competed against Texas State University and Brock University.

“It took a lot of hard work for the team to get to this performance,” said head coach Ali Soven. “The girls had a lot of energy and stepped up against some great teams from around the country. I couldn’t be more proud of how they performed the entire weekend.”

From Jan. 16-18, the country’s top college cheerleaders and dancers assembled at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando to compete in cheerleading’s national championship. The prestigious competition showcased the country’s best college cheerleaders, dance teams and mascots. The entire event was live streamed at Varsity.com.
