CAHSS Announces an Exciting 2015-2016 Season of the Arts

The Department of Performing and Visual Arts in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) has announced an exciting schedule for the 2015-2016 Season of the Arts. This year marks the 10th anniversary of NSU Theater with Shakespeare’s most famous play, Hamlet. The special anniversary celebration performances will take place on November 20-22, 2015.

NSU Theater began in the fall of 2005 with “Burial of Thebes,” in the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center. Since 2005, the number of theater events has grown to 6 shows a year, 4 main stage shows, an Improv Jam, and an annual Student Festival, featuring student-directed one-act performances. A variety of shows have been produced, including Tartuffe, Midsummer Night’s Eve, Cinderella, Cabaret, and Everyman, totaling nearly 50 shows/events with over 10,000 attendees. Last season alone nearly 2,000 people were in the audience.

As noted, some of the events require a ticket while others are free. Tickets for NSU students, faculty, and staff with an NSU ID card are $5. Tickets for community members are $10. Tickets are available for purchase via the online Box Office or at the door on the day of the performance. For more information, please call (954) 262-8179.
