Music will come to life through dance when the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, presents its latest concert, Stories in Music and Dance, at NSU.

Saturday, Mar. 24
7:30 p.m. (pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m.)
Miniaci Performing Arts Center

This Resident Series event, featuring guest conductor Gary Green, will include performances of the following compositions:

Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring
Manuel de Falla’s The Three-Cornered Hat
Amilcare Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours (from the opera La Gioconda)
Dmitri Shostakovich’s Ballet Suite No. 1

Prior to the evening’s performance, Ars Flores will offer Music for Munchkins, a free, 30-minute mini-concert geared toward children and their families. The event begins at 11:00 a.m., also in the Miniaci Performing Arts Center. A reception with refreshments will follow.

Tickets for Stories in Music and Dance are available for $30, $20, and $10 (students/seniors). To purchase tickets, call (954) 462-0222 or visit miniacipac.org.

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences partners with the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra to further connect campus and community creative resources. NSU’s orchestra in residence is a unique professional orchestra with professional, conservatory, college, and gifted high school students performing side by side. The orchestra gives students a rare opportunity to rehearse and perform with talented professional musicians, all of whom hold at least one degree in music.
