2015 Volleyball Schedule Released

rp_primary_Volleyball

The Nova Southeastern University volleyball program has released its schedule for the upcoming 2015 season which begins in September.

The schedule features 31 regular season matches. Fifteen will be hosted at the NSU Arena in the Don Taft University Center and the remainder will be on the road. Last season under first-year head coach Jenn King, the Sharks finished with a 13-15 overall record, which was more wins that the previous two seasons combined. The Sharks are looking to continue that momentum heading into the 2015 campaign.

After a year’s absence, the Sharks will begin the season at home hosting the 8th Annual Sharks Invitational at the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center Sept. 4-5. NSU will face the likes of Virginia State, Kentucky State, Oklahoma Baptist, and East Central to jump start the season at home before heading out on the road to Aiken S.C for a four-match tournament hosted by USC-Aiken Sept. 11-12.

The Sharks begin a tough SSC slate with home matches against Barry on Sept. 18 and Lynn on Sept. 19. The toughest stretch of the season comes on Oct. 9, when the Sharks travel to Saint Leo and Eckerd the next day for a pair of SSC matches, then to Carrollton, Ga. to participate in the South Region Crossover on Oct. 16-17. They return to Florida for a conference match against rival Lynn on Oct. 20 and return home to face defending national champions Tampa on Oct. 23.

The Sharks play their final home match on Nov. 14 against Saint Leo, and conclude the season, for the second year in a row, in Tampa, on Nov. 21.

The NCAA South Region tournament will take place from Dec. 3-6 at a site to be determined, and the NCAA DII Elite Eight will be hosted by the University of Tampa Dec. 10-12.
